Lokoja Land Dispute: Representatives Debunk Court Ruling Claims

Representatives of Sarkin Noma, Kporoka, and Danko Areas of Lokoja have refuted claims that the High Court of Kotonkarfi granted ownership of disputed lands to the Isegba Obba Family of Felele.

Barrister Katu Abdullahi Sule, the claimants’ lead counsel, clarified that the court declined jurisdiction in the matter and did not issue any declaration of ownership. He warned that misinformation about the ruling could threaten the longstanding peace in Lokoja.

The legal dispute stemmed from previous court decisions that, according to the claimants, were obtained without their participation. Sule emphasized that only the Court of Appeal has the authority to determine the validity of those prior rulings.

He urged the public to disregard misleading narratives and continue their daily activities peacefully.
