The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement released by its spokesperson, Saminu Yusif, on Tuesday. According to the report, the women went missing on Monday evening, and their bodies were discovered the following day after an extensive search.

“On Tuesday, 8th April 2025, at about 11:15 am, the control room received an emergency call from the commander of the vigilante group in Gezawa, informing us that two women had fallen into a puddle,” Yusif stated.

Relatives of the victims confirmed that they worked at the Zobo processing company and had entered the water to wash their bodies after closing from duty, unaware of the fatal danger.
