Isaac Fayose Slams APC Over Insecurity

Isaac Fayose, younger brother of ex-Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has accused the APC-led federal government of prioritizing crude oil and political power over citizens’ safety.

In a Facebook video on Wednesday, Fayose criticized the government’s handling of insecurity, citing persistent killings in Plateau, Benue, and Borno states. “They believe more in oil and the states they want to win than in your life,” he said.

He accused President Tinubu’s administration of ignoring deadly attacks in certain regions while swiftly reacting to issues in politically strategic areas like Rivers State. “Look at how many people have died… but in Rivers, where nobody slapped anybody, they declared a state of emergency,” he stated.

Fayose further claimed the government was ruling with authoritarian tendencies and neglecting human suffering. “The APC government doesn’t believe in human beings. They believe in oil,” he added.

He also alleged double standards in the declaration of emergency measures, suggesting the government only intervenes when oil installations or political interests are at risk. “Move close to the oil installation, and they will declare a state of emergency on you,” he remarked.

Isaac Fayose’s comments come amid ongoing debates about security challenges in Nigeria and the government’s response to the crisis.
