Warri Queen Urges Women to Lead Change

Olori Atuwatse III, has called on women leaders in Nigeria and across Africa to push for greater empowerment and create lasting change for women.

Speaking after receiving the LEADERSHIP Social Impact 2024 award at the Banquet Hall, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, the UK-trained lawyer and entrepreneur stressed the importance of mentorship in shaping the next generation of female leaders.

She highlighted the Elevate Africa project, which she founded last year, as a key initiative amplifying the voices and achievements of African women. According to her, the platform is non-political and focused on supporting women who are breaking barriers across the continent.

“I think women should continue to do what they are doing, especially Nigerian women leaders who are doing incredibly well in creating change,” she stated. “It is not easy being a woman; you have to work twice as hard.”

Expressing gratitude for the award, she acknowledged the support of the people of Warri Kingdom. “I know that the recognition of my work is laudable and beyond me. I am standing on behalf of the Warri people to say thank you.”

The award ceremony celebrated individuals making significant social contributions, with Olori Atuwatse III recognized for her advocacy and impact on women’s leadership and empowerment.
