By Prince Adewole Adebayo, the SDP presidential candidate in 2023, has accused President Bola Tinubu of violating the federal character principle in his appointments.
Adebayo criticized Tinubu for allegedly ignoring both Nigeria’s Constitution and the APC Constitution, leading to defections within the ruling party.
He stated, “There is no proper federal character spread in his appointments. He’s not following Chapter 2 of the Constitution.”
Adebayo also warned Nigerians to be cautious about the wave of political defections ahead of the 2027 elections, saying many are self-serving rather than ideological.
He urged citizens to scrutinize politicians switching parties, distinguishing between genuine ideological moves and career-driven decisions.
