The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas, announced that the 10th House will initiate amendments to its Standing Orders to include e-petitions and enhance the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in processing public petitions.
Speaking at the inauguration of the newly digitalized hearing room for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the unveiling of the PAC News quarterly magazine on Monday, Abbas highlighted that this innovative step is the first of its kind in Nigeria. He emphasized that it will make petition procedures more efficient, transparent, and accessible, enabling citizens to engage more effectively with the legislative process.

Abbas stated that integrating ICT would ensure prompt consideration of every voice, reinforcing the House’s commitment to responsive and accountable governance that serves the interests of the Nigerian people.
