The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has partnered with 3R Company Nigeria Limited to deploy a Revenue Assurance Solution (RAS) aimed at improving revenue generation in the telecom sector. The agreement was signed at the NCC headquarters, with representatives from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) present.
The RAS system will connect to telecom operators’ networks, capturing billing data in near real-time to ensure accurate computation of the Annual Operating Levy (AOL) paid by operators. NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, stated that this initiative will enhance monitoring and regulation, helping the federal government boost its revenue amidst dwindling resources.
Danbatta praised ICRC for its guidance and urged 3R to ensure effective implementation. 3R CEO, Raymond Wodi, assured stakeholders of the company’s commitment to exceeding expectations. ICRC’s Internal Audit Director, Togunde Dada-Hammed, also commended the project, calling it a crucial step in addressing Nigeria’s revenue challenges.
