The Vice President for the North Central Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ambassador Akoshile Mukhtar, has reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment in Kwara State, emphasizing it as a critical response to the nation’s economic challenges. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin, Mukhtar underscored the significance of equipping young people with the necessary tools and opportunities to thrive amidst Nigeria’s prevailing economic difficulties.
Mukhtar expressed concern over the rising challenges young people face, including high unemployment and inflation, which have hindered access to education and self-development opportunities. He stressed that empowering the youth is the most viable pathway to overcoming these obstacles and fostering a resilient, progressive Kwara State.
“Our youth are facing tough times, but the key to overcoming these challenges is empowerment,” Mukhtar stated. “By equipping young people with the right skills and support, we are investing in the future of Kwara.”
The ambassador highlighted his efforts in promoting practical skills, entrepreneurship, and educational initiatives, such as the student loan scheme. He also urged the government, private sector, and international organizations to collaborate in creating sustainable opportunities for the youth in Kwara.
Encouraging the youth to remain optimistic, Mukhtar said, “The future of Kwara lies in the hands of its young people. By empowering them today, we are shaping a brighter tomorrow for everyone”.
