President Bola Tinubu has expressed his sadness over the death of Lieutenant-General Jeremiah Timbut Useni, the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Useni passed away on Thursday at the age of 82.
In a statement from his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu offered his condolences to Useni’s family, friends, military peers, and political associates. He praised Useni for his courage and commitment during his military career and said that his leadership inspired many young officers to prioritize the country’s interests over personal gain.
The President also recognized Useni’s political role as the former Deputy National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and as a Senator representing Plateau South.
Tinubu prayed for Useni’s soul to rest in peace and for his family to find comfort during this difficult time.
