Virtuitis Solaris (VS), a subsidiary of MOJEC International Holdings, has committed to building 500 mini-grids across Nigeria over the next three years, starting with 100 grids in the first year. The project aims to connect at least 200,000 customers in 10 to 15 states, providing clean and reliable electricity to underserved communities.
The announcement was made by Chantelle Abdul, Group Managing Director of MOJEC Group and CEO of Virtuitis Solaris, during the signing of a partnership agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) at the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The partnership is part of IFC’s efforts to support distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects and close Nigeria’s electricity access gap.
- As a key player in the World Bank-funded Nigeria Distributed Access through Renewable Energy Scale-Up Programme (Nigeria DARES), Virtuitis Solaris is set to bring power to up to 400,000 households, driving sustainable and affordable energy solutions.
