Jannik Sinner Accepts Three-Month Doping Ban, Set to Return for French Open

World number one Jannik Sinner has accepted a three-month suspension after reaching a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) over two positive doping tests from last year.

WADA confirmed on Saturday that the Italian tennis star will serve his ban from February 9 to May 4, allowing him to return in time for the French Open, which begins on May 19.

The suspension follows an appeal by WADA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after the International Tennis Integrity Unit initially cleared Sinner of any wrongdoing. The 23-year-old had tested positive for the banned substance clostebol during last year’s Indian Wells tournament.

While Sinner maintains that the violation was unintentional, he has chosen to accept the suspension to avoid prolonging the legal battle.

This ruling means Sinner will miss several key tournaments but will have enough time to prepare for his Roland Garros campaign.

Despite the setback, the young star remains focused on his return, with many fans and analysts expecting him to bounce back strongly in the second half of the season.
