FG Sets Up Committee to Tackle School Bullying

Federal Ministry of Education has established a seven-member committee to combat bullying in Nigerian schools, reinforcing its commitment to student safety and welfare.

The committee will review reported cases and ensure swift action, working alongside a 21-member team developing a National Policy on Anti-Bullying.

To encourage confidential reporting, the government has introduced a hotline (09012660044), email (antibullying@education.gov.ng), and WhatsApp (08052536133) for students and parents to report incidents.

Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, stressed the urgency of addressing bullying, citing its severe psychological effects on students.

He assured that the ministry would take strict measures to curb bullying and create a safer learning environment across schools.

The initiative is expected to bring stronger enforcement against bullying and provide victims with a reliable support system.
