Club Brugge Stuns Atalanta to Reach Last 16

Chemsdine Talbi scored twice as Club Brugge defeated Atalanta 3-1 in Italy on Tuesday, sealing a 5-2 aggregate victory to advance to the Champions League last 16.

Talbi’s brace was followed by a stunning Ferran Jutgla strike, helping Brugge build on their 2-1 first-leg win. They now await a tie against Lille or Aston Villa in the next round.

Despite 29 attempts on goal, Atalanta struggled to break down the Belgian defense and were punished on the counterattack. Ademola Lookman pulled one back early in the second half but missed a penalty moments later.

Adding to Atalanta’s woes, captain Rafael Toloi was sent off late in the game, ending their European campaign on a disappointing note.

Brugge’s disciplined performance sees them progress, while last season’s Europa League winners Atalanta crash out of Europe.
