Trump Calls Zelenskyy a ‘Dictator,’ Sparks Outrage

Donald Trump is facing heavy criticism after intensifying his attacks on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, referring to him as a “dictator” and urging him to “move fast” on negotiating a deal to end the war with Russia.

Speaking on Wednesday, Trump expressed frustration over U.S. financial aid to Ukraine, saying, “A modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 billion to go into a war that couldn’t be won, that never had to start.” He insisted that without U.S. support and his leadership, Zelenskyy would struggle to negotiate peace.

Trump also criticized President Joe Biden, arguing that the United States has contributed far more than European nations toward Ukraine’s defense. According to him, the U.S. has spent $200 billion more than Europe, which he claims will see returns on its investments, while the U.S. will not.

The former president questioned why Biden did not push for financial “equalization,” given that, in his view, the war is more critical to Europe than to the United States. “We have a big, beautiful ocean as a separation,” Trump stated, implying that the U.S. should be less involved.

Trump further alleged financial mismanagement in Ukraine, claiming that “Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is MISSING.” However, he did not provide evidence to support the claim, which has not been independently verified.

His remarks have drawn backlash from both political leaders and foreign policy analysts, who argue that undermining Ukraine at a critical moment only benefits Russia. Meanwhile, the Biden administration continues to push for additional aid to Ukraine, maintaining that U.S. support is crucial for global stability.
