The Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Cross River State, Felix Akposi, has given a haulage firm a seven-day ultimatum to repair a wooden bridge damaged by one of its cement-loaded trucks.
The truck got stuck on the bridge, which connects New Ndebiji, Akor, and Ekang, disrupting movement and local business activities.
Akposi insisted that the haulage company and cement consignment owners must fix the bridge immediately to prevent further inconvenience to the affected communities.
“The bridge must be repaired without delay to avoid halting business activities,” Akposi warned.
In response, the Special Adviser to the chairman on Peace and Security, Sylvester Ntui, engaged with the haulage company and cement owners to resolve the issue.
Following the intervention, the stuck truck was promptly towed away from the makeshift bridge, clearing the way for immediate repairs.
