Eddie Hearn Pushes Fury to Fight Joshua

Eddie Hearn is pressuring Tyson Fury to come out of retirement for a long-awaited all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Fury shocked the boxing world last month when he announced his retirement, just weeks after suffering his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk. In a social media video, Fury declared, “It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it… God bless everybody, see you on the other side.”

His retirement disappointed Joshua, who had been hoping to finally settle their rivalry in the ring. The matchup has been years in the making, and Fury’s loss to Usyk made the fight seem more likely—until his sudden announcement.

Hearn, however, remains determined to make it happen. Speaking to IFL TV, he hinted at giving Fury an ultimatum, saying, “If you want to come out of retirement, now is the time to do it.” He made it clear that Joshua is eager for the fight, adding, “AJ wants to fight Fury and he wants to fight for the world heavyweight title, that’s it.”

In a separate talkSPORT interview, Hearn confirmed that Joshua has “two or three fights max” left before retirement. His ultimate goal remains to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship for the third time.

While Fury’s future remains uncertain, Joshua is focused on securing another title shot—whether against Fury, Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker, Deontay Wilder, or other top contenders. The boxing world now waits to see if Fury will accept Hearn’s challenge or stay retired for good.
