Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Timbut Useni was laid to rest on Saturday in his family burial ground in Telam village, Langtang North, Plateau State.
Useni, fondly known as ‘Baba Mai Tuwo,’ passed away in France on January 22, 2025, at the age of 82. His burial took place beside his wife, Julie Useni, and their son, Danjuma Nancwat Useni, who both died in a tragic plane crash in 2002.
Dignitaries, military officers, and community members gathered to pay their last respects at a funeral service held at COCIN Church RCC Langtang.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, reflected on Useni’s final days, emphasizing his focus on forgiveness and reconciliation.
The former FCT Minister was remembered for his service to Nigeria and his deep-rooted ties to the Langtang community.
His burial marks the end of an era for Plateau State, as many mourn the passing of a leader who played a significant role in the country’s military and political landscape.
