As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the party appears to be pushing back against opposition efforts to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Barring any last-minute changes, APC is set to hold its National Caucus meeting on Tuesday, followed by the NEC meeting on Wednesday, aimed at consolidating party structures and finalizing congress plans.
The high-stakes meetings, the first since August 3, 2023, will take place at the Presidential Villa’s Banquet Hall at 6 p.m. and the party’s National Secretariat in Wuse 2, Abuja, at 10 a.m.
APC National Secretary, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, confirmed on the party’s official X (Twitter) handle that all arrangements had been completed, with invitations sent to statutory members.
He added that the meetings were being held in accordance with Article 12.5 of the APC Constitution, ensuring all relevant stakeholders were properly notified.
The gatherings are expected to set the tone for APC’s internal strategies and political positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
