FG Unveils €9.3m Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid In Niger State’s Lambata Community

The federal government has officially commissioned a 990kWp solar hybrid mini-grid in Lambata community, located in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.

The €9.3 million project was funded by the European Union (EU) and co-financed by the German government, in collaboration with Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

At the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, reiterated the government’s dedication to expanding renewable energy access, especially in underserved rural communities.

The EU, which has already invested over €200 million in Nigeria’s power sector, also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovative public-private partnerships to advance Nigeria’s renewable energy transition.
