Chairman of Shell Companies in Nigeria and Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Osagie Okunbor, has stated that Shell’s key oil and gas projects will significantly reposition Nigeria’s energy industry upon completion.
Speaking after Shell Nigeria was awarded Best Upstream Company 2024 at the Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES) on Tuesday, Okunbor described the recognition as a celebration of Shell’s commitment to Nigeria’s energy future through new strategic investments.
He highlighted two major projects:
A gas supply facility in Iseni, Bayelsa State, which will deliver 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMScF/d) to the Dangote Fertiliser and Petrochemical Plant in Lekki, Lagos State.
The $5 billion Bonga North deep-water project, for which SNEPCo has taken Final Investment Decision (FID).
Okunbor reaffirmed Shell’s strong and focused partnership with Nigeria, emphasizing that these investments reflect Shell’s long-term commitment to Nigeria’s economic and energy development.
