The Ekiti State Government has announced that its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew from N1.36 trillion in 2017 to N1.88 trillion in 2022, reflecting an 8.02% growth rate.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Femi Ajayi, who attributed the economic growth to the business-friendly environment created by the state government.
Ajayi further highlighted that Ekiti’s current GDP surpasses the economy of Sao Tome and Principe, along with some West African nations.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to sustained socio-economic development, with infrastructure development and agricultural sector support playing key roles in driving future growth.
