Soname Pledges N2.5m To Flamingoes

Hon. Kunle Soname, founder of Remo Stars Football Club, has promised to reward Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingoes, with N2.5 million as they prepare for their crucial World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

The first leg of the qualifier will take place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, a vital step for the team in their bid to secure a spot at this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Ahead of the match, the Flamingoes have been training intensively at Remo Stars’ state-of-the-art facilities in Ikenne, Ogun State. The camp has provided the young players with top-level conditions to fine-tune their strategies.

Hon. Soname made the pledge after watching the team in action during a friendly match against Beyond Limits Football Academy, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Praising the team’s fighting spirit, Soname said he was impressed with their talent and dedication. He urged the players to stay focused and believe in their abilities as they prepare to represent Nigeria on the global stage.

The Flamingoes, known for their rich history in youth football, hope to build on this encouragement and secure a strong result in South Africa before returning home for the second leg.
