The Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, has distributed food items to over 1,000 Muslims and Islamic schools ahead of the 30-day Ramadan fasting period.
The church’s General Overseer, Pastor Yohanna Buru, led the distribution at Kano Road Central Mosque in Kaduna. He explained that the gesture was aimed at promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony in the state.
According to Pastor Buru, this has become an annual tradition for the church, targeting underprivileged Muslims and students in Tsangaya Islamic schools across northern Nigeria.
“We believe in strengthening peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims, and showing love to our neighbors, especially during important religious seasons like Ramadan,” Pastor Buru said.
He added that the food assistance was meant to support fasting Muslims, particularly those struggling with economic hardship, so they could observe the fasting period without worry.
The gesture was warmly received by the beneficiaries, with many commending the church’s commitment to promoting religious tolerance and compassion.
