By Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, has declared that Team Delta is fully prepared to dominate the upcoming Gateway Games. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to uphold its reputation as the nation’s top sports powerhouse.
Oborevwori couldn’t hide his excitement about the team’s current form. He said their performance so far has brought pride to both the government and the people of Delta State.
However, he urged athletes and coaches not to relax, warning that complacency could ruin their chances. He stressed that proper preparation from now until the games will be key to holding on to the number one spot.
In addition to his remarks, Franka Okonma, Director of Public Relations at the Delta State Sports Commission, gave further insight into Team Delta’s qualification. She confirmed that the team secured spots in 12 out of the 16 available sports, across both male and female categories.
This strong qualification performance, according to Okonma, is proof that Delta State’s sports development programs are delivering real results. She added that the athletes are motivated to make the state proud once again.
With the games fast approaching, Team Delta’s message is clear — they are coming not just to participate but to dominate, just like they have done in previous editions.
