TAJBank, AIFC Partner To Boost Trade

TAJBank has entered into a strategic partnership with Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) to strengthen trade ties between Nigeria and Kazakhstan, with a focus on joint ventures and long-term economic cooperation.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, praised the partnership, saying it will open new doors for Nigerian exports, particularly in key sectors like agriculture. He emphasized the potential to increase Nigeria’s cocoa exports to Kazakhstan and other markets.

According to the Ooni, the collaboration could also promote the growth of non-interest banking in Nigeria, leveraging AIFC’s expertise in Islamic finance. This aligns with TAJBank’s position as a leading player in Nigeria’s non-interest banking sector.

The partnership aims to create smoother trade channels between the two countries, giving Nigerian businesses better access to Asian markets. This could ultimately help Nigeria diversify its export base beyond oil, boosting foreign exchange earnings.

TAJBank’s management has also expressed confidence that the alliance will enhance cross-border investment opportunities, fostering a stronger relationship between Nigerian and Kazakh businesses.

With high-profile backing from the Ooni of Ife, the TAJBank-AIFC deal is being seen as a bold step toward expanding Nigeria’s global trade footprint while supporting sustainable banking solutions for businesses at home.
