By Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has officially presented brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to the newly inaugurated chairmen of the state’s 18 local government areas.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday at the Government House in Akure, where Aiyedatiwa emphasized his administration’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance.
Speaking at the event, the governor charged the local government chairmen to use the vehicles to enhance service delivery and remain accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people.
He noted that effective grassroots leadership is crucial to achieving development goals, urging the chairmen to prioritize projects that directly benefit local communities.
The new vehicles are expected to improve mobility for the council leaders, helping them engage more actively with their communities and tackle pressing local issues.
With the gesture, Aiyedatiwa reiterated his pledge to continue supporting local councils, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to function effectively.
