By Bwari General Hospital Laboratory has successfully retained its ISO 15189:2022 certification, reaffirming its place as the first and only government-owned medical laboratory in Nigeria to achieve and maintain this global accreditation.
The ISO 15189 certification is a globally recognized seal of approval, proving that the laboratory operates in line with internationally accepted medical standards, ensuring reliable and high-quality service delivery.
Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, announced the achievement in a statement released on Tuesday evening. He described the certification as a reflection of the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s (FCTA) commitment to enhancing healthcare services under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Olayinka further explained that retaining this prestigious accreditation requires continuous improvement, ensuring the laboratory consistently meets evolving global standards. This, he said, is a key focus under the leadership of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The achievement highlights not only the hospital’s excellence but also the broader push for healthcare reforms within the FCT, demonstrating Nigeria’s potential to meet international benchmarks in public health services.
With this renewed certification, Bwari General Hospital Laboratory sets a standard for other government-owned healthcare facilities, showing that consistent quality improvement can place Nigerian institutions on the global map for excellence.
