Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, has applauded Governor Uba Sani for stepping in to help suspend the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike at the university.
In a statement signed by KASU’s Director of Corporate Services, Galadima Zubairu Soba, the VC said the entire university community was grateful for the governor’s intervention, which was crucial in ending the standoff.
Prof. Musa highlighted that Governor Sani’s commitment to education and his focus on dialogue played a major role in bringing both sides to the table, leading to the suspension of the strike.
“The management of KASU sincerely appreciates His Excellency’s proactive efforts in ensuring the swift resolution of the strike. His intervention has not only restored academic activities but also reignited hope among our students, staff, and the entire university community,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor also praised the ASUU-KASU leadership for being open to dialogue and working with the government and management to find a way forward.
He assured students and parents that the university would make necessary adjustments to the academic calendar to reduce the impact of the strike and ensure students can quickly return to their studies.
