By Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, and his counterpart from the Ministry of Solid Mineral Development, Haliru Wasagu, shared the news with journalists in Birnin Kebbi. They emphasized that these findings could transform Kebbi’s economy by boosting internally generated revenue (IGR) and driving industrial progress.
Ahmed Birnin Kebbi stated that when Governor Idris took office in 2023, the solid mineral sector had been largely ignored despite its potential. The administration is now committed to unlocking the state’s resource wealth, a move that could reshape Kebbi’s economic future.
“These minerals hold great political and economic significance for Nigeria’s development, and Kebbi is ready to embrace a new era of industrial growth,” Ahmed BK noted. He added that the state government is focused on ensuring sustainable exploration and investment in the sector.
Commissioner Haliru Wasagu further revealed that while Kebbi is home to 35 solid minerals, these five were only recently identified under Governor Idris’s administration. He assured that more discoveries and developments are expected as exploration efforts continue.
With these new findings, Kebbi State is positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s solid mineral sector, attracting potential investors and paving the way for long-term economic advancement.
