The federal government has pledged its support for a documentary chronicling Nigeria’s 25 years of uninterrupted democracy. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this commitment while receiving the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abuja.
The documentary, an initiative of IPAC, aims to celebrate democratic achievements, acknowledge challenges, and highlight lessons learned since the country returned to civilian rule in 1999. Idris described the project as a “critical chronicle of Nigeria’s democratic journey” and assured that the Ministry of Information would provide necessary support.
He commended IPAC for its role in strengthening democracy and emphasized the importance of political parties working together beyond elections. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu supports healthy political competition, as democracy thrives on constructive opposition and national interest-driven collaboration,” he stated.
IPAC National Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Dantalle, revealed that the documentary would showcase Nigeria’s progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social cohesion. He added that it would serve as an educational tool for younger generations, particularly Gen Z, and feature top Nollywood actors with high production standards.
The IPAC delegation included Deputy National Chairman Dipo Olayokun, Council Member Chief Dan Nwayanwu, and National Secretary Maxwell Mabudem.
