Manhunt for Suspect After Killing Pregnant Fiancée, Child

The Edo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Wealth Nnamdi, who allegedly murdered his pregnant fiancée, Osasu Isaac, and her 3-year-old daughter, Miracle, in Benin City. The tragic incident happened on March 16 in Ovbiogoe Community following a heated argument between the couple.

According to neighbours, Osasu and Nnamdi often had disagreements, but no one expected their latest quarrel to end in violence. The couple had been living together for over three years, and their traditional wedding was scheduled for March 29, followed by a church ceremony on April 6.

A community source revealed that Osasu had been looking forward to her wedding and was already pregnant with Nnamdi’s child. “She was very excited. We heard them arguing on Sunday, but we didn’t think much of it. When it got quiet, we assumed they had settled,” the source said.

Two days later, neighbours became concerned when a foul smell started coming from their room. Suspecting something was wrong, they contacted the police. Officers from the Ekiadolor Division forced the door open and discovered the lifeless bodies of Osasu and her daughter.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident, stating that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the suspect, who fled after the killings. “We are actively investigating, and we urge anyone with useful information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward,” he said.

This shocking case has left the community in mourning, with many calling for justice. Authorities have assured the public that all efforts will be made to capture Nnamdi and bring him to justice.
