By The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has launched an investigation into the death of a woman suspected to have been struck by a train along the Gwagwa-Idu rail line in Abuja.
Reports indicate that the unidentified body of a female adult was discovered on the railway tracks on Monday, March 24, 2025, prompting police intervention.
Confirming the incident, FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, stated, “On March 24, 2025, at about 11:00 am, FCT Police responded to a distress call reporting an unconscious female on the railway tracks behind Zeberced Company, Idu. Upon arrival, officers found a lifeless and disfigured female body, believed to have been struck by a train.”
She added that the remains were evacuated to Kubwa General Hospital, where her death was confirmed, and efforts are ongoing to identify her and locate her relatives.
Meanwhile, FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), DCP Isyaku Sharu, has urged residents to exercise caution around railway tracks and adhere to safety regulations.
