By Norwegian club Bryne FK, where Manchester City star Erling Haaland began his career, has introduced a unique tradition—rewarding their Player of the Match with trays of eggs.
The newly promoted top-flight club honored goalkeeper Jan de Boer with four trays of eggs after his heroic performance against Bodo/Glimt, where he saved a penalty in their 1-0 loss.
This quirky prize pays homage to Bryne’s agricultural roots, with fans proudly chanting “we are farmers and we are proud of it” during matches. The club even offers ‘VIP’ seating in a pitchside tractor.
For their next game against Kristiansund on April 6, the Player of the Match will receive cartons of local milk instead of eggs.
