Governor Monday Okpebholo has called for peace and unity among residents, party supporters, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor urged citizens to remain calm and respect the legal process, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order.
“We have witnessed a vibrant and competitive electoral process, and I respect the legal avenues available to all parties. The tribunal’s decision is a crucial part of our democratic process, and we must all respect its authority,” Okpebholo stated.
He warned against political division and misinformation, stressing that the state’s progress should not be undermined by electoral disputes. He urged political and community leaders to foster unity and uphold the rule of law.
Expressing confidence in the judiciary, Okpebholo reassured residents that the verdict would be fair and just. He also praised the people of Edo for their resilience and commitment to democracy.
The governor concluded by calling on everyone to demonstrate political maturity and work toward the state’s continued peace and development.
