Arewa Youths Demand EFCC Drops ‘Wanted’ Tag on Aisha Achimugu

Isak Mammud, and secretary, Timothy Isaiah, alleged that the EFCC’s move was a calculated attempt to pressure Achimugu into implicating Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“This is nothing different from the earlier claims that funds were provided to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar through her. Both the Lagos State Governor and Alhaji Abubakar have refuted this,” the group stated.

They described the EFCC’s actions as politically motivated ahead of the 2027 elections, accusing the agency of being used as a tool for witch-hunting.

“We urge the EFCC chairman to resist undue pressure and work for Nigerians, not as a willing tool in the hands of desperate politicians,” they added.

The EFCC had declared Achimugu wanted over alleged money laundering, a move that the Arewa group argues was executed in haste and without due process.
