By The President of the Concerned Christian Youth Movement (CCYM), Dr. Paul Adama, has urged authorities to take swift action against a TikToker known as Seaking for allegedly insulting revered Christian leaders. He warned that failure to address the issue could lead to religious tensions.
In a statement on Monday, Dr. Adama stressed the need to uphold religious freedom as guaranteed by Nigeria’s Constitution, ensuring that individuals can practice their faith without fear of attack.
He condemned Seaking’s recent remarks, labeling them an unjustified assault on the beliefs of Christians. “You cannot attack people for declaring their faith in a peaceful country. If a respected man of God like Pastor Enoch Adeboye shares a vision of greatness with his congregation, why should believers be ridiculed for embracing it?” he questioned.
Expressing concern for the safety of religious leaders, particularly Pastor Adeboye, Dr. Adama urged the government to act swiftly against any attempts to provoke unrest among Christians.
He further called for unity and tolerance, emphasizing that the authorities must protect religious groups from harassment and ensure peace among Nigerians.
