Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has shared his administration’s efforts to make the state’s economy one of the fastest growing in Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure, innovation, and investment.
Since taking office in 2019, Makinde has focused on building a vibrant economy by prioritizing infrastructural development, promoting innovation, and encouraging investments across various sectors.
He also highlighted the state’s dedication to agribusiness as a key driver for food security and economic stability. The governor reassured that his administration would continue pushing for sustainable development to secure Oyo’s future.
Makinde’s deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, made the remarks on behalf of the governor during the opening of the Oyo State International Trade Fair, EXPOYO 2025. The event, held at the EXPOYO Permanent International Trade Fair Complex in Ibadan, was themed: “Achieving Food Security and Economic Stability in Oyo State Through Massive Investments in Agriculture.”
In his speech, Makinde stressed that food security is a shared responsibility among all stakeholders but assured that the government has fostered a business-friendly environment, improving critical sectors like transportation, energy, agriculture, and technology.
