By Eight people were injured after a gun accidentally discharged during a national convention at the Lutheran Church of Christ (LCCN) in Demsa, Adamawa State.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Danwambo Morris, condemned the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, blaming it on firearm mishandling.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the gun belonged to a member of the Hunters Association from Kukta Village in Song LGA. The hunter was providing security support for the religious gathering.
Authorities say the dane gun accidentally fell to the ground and discharged, sending bullets in multiple directions.
Eight attendees sustained injuries and were rushed to a medical facility in Demsa, where they are now receiving treatment.
The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent future occurrences.
