Naja’atu Muhammad, has made serious allegations against Nigerian politicians, accusing them of deliberately using bandits as political thugs and thereby exacerbating the pervasive insecurity crisis plaguing the nation.
During a recent interview on Channels Television’s breakfast program, “The Morning Brief,” Naja’atu Muhammad asserted that the escalating violence and killings witnessed in Plateau State and across the country are linked to what she described as a pattern of deliberate negligence and manipulation orchestrated by individuals holding positions of power within the government.
“The common enemy is the government who has refused to give citizens the protection that is their right,” she stated emphatically during the interview. “The common enemy is not the Fulani man or the Berom man. They are both victims. Nobody chose to be where they are. The Nigerian constitution gives everyone the right to live peacefully anywhere.”
Naja’atu did not shy away from directly criticizing the political establishment, alleging that certain prominent politicians are not merely complicit in the breakdown of security but are actively enabling it for their own political purposes.
“One of the biggest bandits openly claimed that he is working with people in power. He mentioned their names, but what happened? They are still occupying high positions,” she alleged, providing a disturbing example. “Just recently, during Eid, he slaughtered 15 people like rams while making a video of it.”
The activist emphasized that the escalating insecurity is not confined to Plateau State but represents a nationwide crisis, with the northern region of Nigeria bearing a particularly heavy burden of violence and instability.
