Air Force Orders Probe Into Kaduna Clash

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched an investigation into a violent incident involving its personnel and some civilians at Unguwan Gangare, Barakallahu, in Kaduna State. The clash took place on February 26, 2025, leaving several people injured and one civilian dead.

In a statement released by the NAF Spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa, the military confirmed the unfortunate incident and assured the public that those injured are receiving treatment at the 461 NAF Hospital.

“We deeply regret the loss of a life and have reached out to the family of the deceased to express our condolences and assure them of a thorough investigation and justice,” Akinboyewa stated.

While details of what triggered the altercation remain unclear, the Air Force promised that anyone found responsible for wrongdoing would be held accountable. The statement emphasized the NAF’s commitment to maintaining a professional relationship with the civilian population.

The community of Barakallahu, which has witnessed occasional tensions in the past, has urged both sides to remain calm while the investigation unfolds.

Residents also called for better communication and understanding between security forces and the people, to avoid similar incidents in the future.
