Akwa United’s technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, has assured fans that the club will avoid relegation and remain in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.
Boboye’s confidence follows Akwa United’s crucial 1-0 win over Katsina United in Uyo on Monday — their seventh victory of the campaign.
Despite the win, the Promise Keepers still sit in 19th place on the NPFL table with 27 points, leaving them deep in the relegation zone.
However, Boboye believes the team has enough quality and fighting spirit to turn their season around in the remaining matches.
“We have what it takes to survive relegation. The players are showing great commitment and we will keep fighting,” Boboye said.
With every point now crucial, Akwa United’s survival battle is set to go down to the wire as they aim to maintain their top-flight status.
