In a statement shared on his X handle, Atiku called the incident “utterly reprehensible” and insisted that it must undergo a full and thorough investigation.
He expressed disbelief that the operatives were reportedly assigned to enforce a leadership change within the Assembly, calling it a clear violation of democratic principles.
“Atiku stated that the video showing armed security personnel storming the Assembly was deeply troubling, and it must be thoroughly examined to hold those responsible accountable.
He further criticized those who claimed to support democracy yet sanctioned such an undemocratic act, warning that it jeopardizes Nigeria’s hard-earned democracy.
The situation has raised significant concerns about the integrity of Nigeria’s legislative processes and the role of security forces in political matters.
