Senator Douye Diri, has urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to embrace the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and love as they mark Eid-el-Fitri.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Diri described Ramadan fasting as a key pillar of Islam that fosters self-discipline and patience among believers.
The governor encouraged Muslims to continue praying for the peace and prosperity of Bayelsa and Nigeria, emphasizing that his administration remains committed to religious harmony.
“We are committed to promoting peaceful co-existence between and among adherents of different faiths in order to build a prosperous state for everyone,” he stated.
Diri assured residents of his government’s dedication to fostering unity, regardless of religion or ethnicity, stressing that love and mutual respect are essential for development.
He concluded his message with warm wishes to Muslims in Bayelsa and across the country, saying, “I wish our Muslim brethren a happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration.”
