By In a move to advance rugby in Nigeria, the British High Commission, in partnership with SOS Kits, donated rugby kits and balls to the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF). The presentation took place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, with UK Deputy High Commissioner, Gill Lever, commending the NRFF’s growth, especially its rise from 24th to 8th in Africa’s rankings.
The donation, consisting of 19 cartons of jerseys, T-shirts, and rugby balls, aims to further develop the sport and promote women’s participation. Azeez Ladipo, NRFF General Manager, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the sport’s growth under Dr. Ademola Are’s leadership. The donation also aligns with the NRFF’s commitment to community engagement through initiatives like the Rugby Rising Play Programme.
