A tragic incident unfolded in Abagana Community, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Friday evening, leaving residents in shock. A 37-year-old man, Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor, allegedly killed his 45-year-old elder brother, Emmanuel Okafor, during a heated argument over the sharing of foodstuffs.
The dispute occurred at their family home in Adegbe Village, Abagana, around 7 pm. Witnesses reported that Anthony, in a fit of rage, attacked his brother with a stick, piercing his chest. The injury proved fatal, leading to Emmanuel’s death.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident on Saturday. According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anthony has been arrested by a joint team of the Abagana Police Division and the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).
The community is now grappling with the aftermath of this heartbreaking event, as family and neighbors mourn the loss of Emmanuel. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect is expected to face legal consequences for his actions.
