Chelsea are reportedly making a strong push to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface, ahead of the summer transfer window. The Blues are looking to bolster their attack, adding competition for Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu.
Injuries to both Jackson and Guiu have forced manager Enzo Maresca to deploy Pedro Neto as a false nine in recent weeks. With a clear need for reinforcements, Chelsea are said to be doing everything possible to secure Boniface’s signature, according to CaughtOffside (via TEAMtalk).
The Nigerian forward is attracting significant interest from other Premier League clubs, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United all monitoring his situation. Newcastle, in particular, have shortlisted him as a potential replacement should they lose Alexander Isak.
Chelsea are reportedly aware of the growing competition and are planning direct talks with both the 24-year-old striker and his club, Leverkusen, in the near future. Boniface is expected to command a transfer fee of around €70 million.
The talented forward has been in impressive form this season, scoring seven goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances and 10 goals in 20 matches across all competitions. His performances have been instrumental in Leverkusen’s title-winning campaign.
Boniface was recently named in Nigeria’s 39-man provisional squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, further highlighting his growing reputation on the international stage.
