CitySports Africa Marks 5th Anniversary With New Jersey

CitySports Africa has celebrated its fifth anniversary with the launch of a commemorative sports jersey, reinforcing its dedication to youth empowerment through sports.

Founded in 2019, the organization has played a key role in developing young athletes across Africa and the African diaspora by integrating sports with leadership and academic training.

The anniversary event brought together athletes, sports stakeholders, and brand supporters to reflect on CitySports Africa’s impact over the years. The newly unveiled jersey symbolizes the organization’s values of resilience, excellence, and inclusivity.

“We are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in the last five years,” said CEO Shola Opaleye. “This journey is about more than just sports—it’s about developing leadership and academic skills. Our new jersey represents the ‘CitySports for All’ spirit, designed for champions on and off the field.”

Looking ahead, the organization has set a goal of reaching 10 million youth by 2035, with an annual target of one million participants. Opaleye emphasized CitySports Africa’s commitment to providing every child, regardless of background, with the opportunity to grow through sports.

Recognized as a leader in sports development, CitySports Africa continues to implement programs that enhance athletic abilities while fostering teamwork, resilience, and community engagement.
