Civic Group Warns Rivers Administrator on Bias

CDA’s chancellor, Dr. Idris Jinadu, emphasized the importance of transparency in appointments, warning that favoritism could destabilize the state and derail peace efforts.

“As sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibas carries an enormous responsibility. His actions must reflect competence, fairness, and inclusivity. Any sign of favoritism will only heighten tensions,” Jinadu cautioned.

He also stressed that the civil service must remain free from political interference. “The institution is built on decades of professionalism. Disrupting it through abrupt purges will weaken governance,” he warned.

Jinadu reminded Ibas that his role is temporary and urged him to maintain order while strengthening state institutions. “His focus should be fair governance. Weakening the bureaucracy or promoting factionalism could have long-term consequences,” he added.

The CDA concluded by urging all stakehoders to prioritize the state’s collective interest over personal or political ambitions, emphasizing that neutrality and fairness are crucial for lasting peace.
