The Coalition for Transparency, Equity, and Justice, has called on the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy to address allegations of financial mismanagement under Minister Hannatu Musawa.
In a formal petition citing the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act, the coalition demanded an explanation for an alleged ₦4 billion expenditure on office rent. The group is seeking clarity on how public funds were allocated.
The petition, signed by the coalition’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Chima Chibuike, claims that ₦3 billion has already been disbursed in installments to the landlord without approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
According to the group, the office in question is located along ICPC Road in Abuja. The rent payments have reportedly been ongoing for over a year, raising concerns about transparency and due process.
The coalition urged the ministry to provide documents detailing the transaction, stressing that accountability is essential in the management of public resources. They warned that failure to respond could lead to further legal action.
As public scrutiny grows, stakeholders are calling for a thorough investigation to determine whether financial regulations were violated in the alleged payments
