The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, has commended the conferment of the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR) on two senior management staff of the Commission.
Describing the recognition as well-deserved, Danbatta noted that it underscores the NCC’s commitment to professionalism and excellence in management practices. This accolade was conferred on Mr. Reuben Muoka, Director of Public Affairs, and Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, Head of Media Relations in the Public Affairs Department, during the NIPR’s Annual General Meeting and Conference at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
“The Commission is proud to have produced individuals considered worthy of elevation to the fellowship cadre of a prestigious institution like the NIPR,” Danbatta remarked. He added that this achievement resonates with two core values of the NCC Excellence and Professionalism—values that are also shared by the NIPR.
The EVC also lauded the NIPR for its steadfast commitment to regulating public relations practice in Nigeria, stating, “This recognition strengthens the robust collaboration between the NCC and NIPR, particularly in capacity-building and fostering appropriate national social orientation.”
